GN 2 Phase Disc Separator Used for Seaweed Slurry Separation in Southeast Asia

GN Separation has recently completed the supply and deployment of a high-efficiency two-phase disc stack separator for a seaweed slurry separation project in Southeast Asia. This customized separation solution effectively solves the fine solid-liquid clarification challenge of seaweed slurry, helping the client achieve high-purity slurry purification and stable production operation.

In this Southeast Asian seaweed processing project, GN’s two-phase disc stack separator acts as the core clarification equipment for fine treatment of seaweed slurry. The device is professionally designed to intercept tiny solid particles in liquid materials and realize continuous discharge of clarified clean liquid. Equipped with a high-speed rotating bowl and precision disc stack structure, the separator delivers far stronger centrifugal separation force than traditional decanter centrifuges, making it the ideal equipment for high-standard liquid clarification scenarios.
Superior centrifugal G-force is the core advantage of GN disc stack separators. The equipment can reach a maximum centrifugal force of 12,000G, while the conventional decanter centrifuge only provides about 3,000G. The ultra-high G-force and stable high-speed operation enable the separator to efficiently capture micron-level suspended fine particles that are difficult to remove by conventional separation equipment, greatly improving the clarity and purification quality of treated seaweed slurry.
It is worth noting that two-phase disc stack separators are mainly oriented to fine particle separation working conditions, with strict adaptability requirements for feed materials. To ensure optimal separation performance, the solid content of the treated material is preferably controlled at 1% and shall not exceed 3% in conventional working conditions, and the material should be free of large-particle impurities.
For raw seaweed slurry with high solid content or mixed coarse particles, GN Separation adopts a two-stage combined separation process to guarantee treatment efficiency. The decanter centrifuge is used for primary pretreatment to remove large particulate impurities and reduce material solid load. Subsequently, the two-phase disc stack separator performs secondary fine clarification to achieve ultra-purification of the slurry. This graded treatment mode can flexibly adapt to different material characteristics and process requirements, maximizing separation accuracy and liquid purification effect.
Thanks to the flexible and configurable separation process, the customized solution not only significantly improves the clarity of seaweed slurry for the Southeast Asian client but also effectively stabilizes the entire downstream production process, reducing equipment failure risks and production costs caused by unqualified slurry purification.
In addition to seaweed slurry processing, GN two-phase disc stack separators have been widely applied in multiple industrial fields, including vegetable oil purification, biopharmaceutical processing, dairy and beverage production, biofuel refining, and marine oil clarification. According to different material properties, processing capacity and separation precision requirements, we can provide personalized equipment selection and scheme configuration services to meet diversified fine separation demands of various industries.
