This week, GN Separation successfully completed the factory trial installation of 2 complete setss of oil sludge treatment system (OSTS). This milestone marks a significant step toward ensuring the system’s readiness for deployment, as engineers conducted rigorous testing to validate module connectivity, equipment performance, and full system integration prior to final shipment.

Designed to tackle the growing challenges of industrial oil sludge management, the solution combines efficiency, mobility, and precision engineering to ensure dependable, field-ready performance.

Purpose of the Factory Trial Installation

Conducted at GN Separation’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, the factory trial served as a comprehensive pre-delivery quality assurance step. By assembling and testing the complete system in a controlled environment, GN engineers proactively identified and resolved potential issues related to:

Inter-module connections

Piping alignment

Electrical wiring

Automation and control systems

This proactive approach significantly reduces risks during on-site commissioning, ensures smooth integration at the project site, and minimizes operational downtime for the end user.

Core Modules of the GN Oil Sludge Treatment System

The OSTS includes several integrated modules, each designed for a specific stage of the separation process:

1. Pre-Mixing Tank Module

The initial stage of processing, this module receives raw oil sludge and performs chemical dosing, thermal conditioning, and dilution control. Equipped with an agitator, level sensors, and flow meters, it ensures homogeneous mixing and provides real-time process monitoring.

2.  Vibrating Screen Module

After pre-treatment, the sludge is transferred to the vibrating screen for coarse solids removal.

3. Decanter Centrifuge Module

At the heart of the OSTS is the decanter centrifuge, a high-performance unit capable of separating solids as small as 2–5 microns.

The liquid phase (oil + water) is discharged for further treatment in the client’s oil-water separation unit.

The solid cake is collected for disposal or recycling.

4. Chemical Dosing Module

This module enhances separation efficiency by preparing and injecting key chemical agents:

Flocculant System: Dry polymer is mixed with water to produce activated flocculant solution.

Demulsifier System: Used for pH adjustment to promote oil-water-solid separation.

With the factory trial installation successfully completed, GN Separation is now finalizing the system documentation and preparing for shipment.
